Dear donors and supporters,
May this report finds you well.
On December 15, 2019, YKIP invited all 12 graders from all YKIP project area to attend the Youth Career Planning Workshop (YCPW) 2019. This event is our annual event that usually takes places on December.
YCPW is one of our program of which aim is to give as much information for the children about planning a future after graduating high school. YKIP realise that from the 54 students who are in 12 grade this year, not all would be able to continue their education to higher level. By attending this workshop, YKIP hope that the children will be able to determine what they would do after graduating from senior high school.
Prior to this event, YKIP gave the questionare to the 12 grader to find out what they would like to learn. From the data collected, we found that most of the student would like to work in tourism sector, while other would love to work in the financial institutions. Other answer including being a entrepreneur. We then create the workshop based on the students need. We invited speaker from the hotel and hospitality industry, financial institution, and an entrepreneur.
The workshop was guided by a facilitator who also acted as the game master. We create the fun workshop so that the children would not be bored learning the new things. The first three sessions was about job searching and creating good CV and cover letter. These section was presented by a HR person from Mitrais, one of our donors.
Next session were about working in the financial institution, presented by a branch manager of a bank in Denpasar city. After the financial institution presentation, we got a session from training manager in a five star hotel in Bali presenting about working in a hotel. The entrepreneur section was presented by the owner of online cake shop. The children were so enthusiast learning the new things from the industries.
Finished the industry presentation, we continued the workshop by giving information about available scholarship in Bali and Indonesia. We invited State Accounting College to share the information about the college to the students. Another presentation was from a hospitality training center, where they gave information about the study in the hospitality field. YKIP also presented the chance of getting the YKIP scholarship. To encourage the participant, one of the alumny of YKIP KEMBALI and University program share his experience with the students.
Besides all the presentation, we also have some team building and fun games for the participant lead by the facilitator of the workshop. We would like thank all speaker who voluntary spare their time for this event and sharing their knowledge. Also, for all sponsors who support this event. We hope that this event will give the knowledge needed by the children to reach the brighter future.
