Aces Wildlife Rescue is the only multi-species wildlife rescue, sanctuary, and rehabilitation facility for the cayes of Northern Belize. We provide 24/7 emergency response to all calls of distressed animals on Ambergris Caye and our neighboring island Caye Caulker, while specializing in bird and reptile rehabilitation of injured, ill, orphaned or displaced wildlife, assisting in their recovery and preparing them for their release back into the wild.
Aces receives no government funding and relies on the generosity of donors and sponsors to cover the costs required to run the rehabilitation program and the sanctuary. Each year the number of calls to our emergency hotline regarding human-wildlife conflict or about wildlife in distress increases, as do our patient intake numbers, with many of the animals requiring specialist veterinary care which is 90 minutes away on the water taxi.
Your donation makes our wildlife and environmental conservation work possible. With your help we can continue to provide rescue services, transportation, excellent specialized veterinary care, housing, and rehabilitation to give imperiled wildlife a second chance at freedom. It will also support education programs within the community so we can all have a better understanding of how to harmoniously live and grow with nature while minimizing human-wildlife conflict.
In an area with high tourism and the habitat loss that subsequently follows, each animal we rescue and release is important for the survival of their species in the region. Our education and outreach programs are equally important for spreading awareness of environmental concerns and encouraging appreciation and love for wildlife and their habitats. Every year we rescue hundreds of animals and the number keeps increasing. With additional assistance to our program, we can save thousands more.
