Dear All,
Well, unfortunately haven’t really progressed since the last report. This is entirely to do with simply being too busy to concentrate on fundraising. We received 68 new birds since the last project report, 37 of which are confiscated or surrendered parrots now in long-term rehab care (approx. 2 years) which is a huge commitment on food, care and enclosure upkeep, not to mention medical care and the costs of the release process when the time comes.
We are not complaining! The majority of these birds are already 100% better off than they were in the pet trade, and in time will be released back into their natural habitat to boost the wild populations, as they should.
But, we still need help. A lot of help. So if you could share our fundraiser here on Global Giving, maybe consider us for you annual tax-deductible donation, we would be so very grateful.
Thank you for your continuing support, look out for our new fundraising drive, and we hope to hear from you soon!

Just a quick line to say thank you so much for your generous donation toward the running costs of our facility. You have no idea how much we appreciate your confidence in us. This is the most essential of all of our projects, for without the monthly running costs being covered, BBR would eventually be forced to scale back or even close altogether.
Amongst other things, this month your donations helped with the medical costs for 5 birds with fractured legs or wings and the gas for many rescue trips.
We (the founding Directors) are still using our private funds to cover the majority of the day-to-day costs, especially wages and food, but we have to admit we are struggling. We will be pushing this project more often this coming month, so if you have 5 minutes to share our fundraising messages amongst your friends, we would be very, very grateful.
Thank you again for your donation and support, and please spread the good word!
Best regards,
Nikki Buxton
