Saved Dreams: Ukrainian Teens Suicide Prevention

By Swjatoslawa Nykorowycz-Mendel | Country Director

Activities Conducted:

  • 5 individual psychological consultations were conducted with teenagers who needed more personalized support following the group activities. These sessions were led by licensed mental health professionals and allowed for deeper work on personal challenges.

  • 1 additional informal discussion session was held with a smaller group to encourage open sharing and peer connection.

  • Multiple social media posts and short video reels were created and published. These focused on mental health awareness, coping strategies, and conversations around depression.

  • We also introduced a new “Good to Know” section in our monthly newsletter, written by psychologists. This regular column provides accessible, practical mental health tips and knowledge to our readers.

Impact:

  • The workshops reached approximately 10 teenagers, offering a safe space to talk and learn about mental health.

  • Our online content is helping us reach a wider audience of youth who may not attend events but follow us on social media.

  • The newsletter column has already received positive feedback and is increasing engagement among parents, teachers, and young people.

Next Steps:

  • Plan additional workshops and extend online outreach.

  • Strengthen collaboration with mental health professionals for future content and events.

  • Promote the newsletter’s new column more broadly to expand its readership.

Fundraising Update:

The fundraising campaign is still ongoing, and we warmly invite continued support. Every donation helps us reach more youth, create better resources, and keep building a safe community for mental health education.

Thank you for being part of this mission!
