Summary

We created a completely unique project #MOD - it's free mobile ophthalmic care in the frontline for Ukrainians who live near the frontline. Our field team of doctors conducts free examinations, provides medicines, glasses, and referrals for surgery if treatment cannot be performed in a mobile office. One mission cost 2937 dollars. Please help us to continue this extremely important project!

Challenge

Due to background fatigue, stress and lack of proper hygiene, civilians often experience vision problems, such as high eye pressure, sharp deterioration of vision, etc. The examination allows us to notice the problem in time, find the cause and stop the deterioration of the condition and the development of diseases that can lead to blindness. According to our statistics, out of 300 people who come to us for examinations, only five have no vision problems!

Solution

During each mission, we will examine up to 300 civilians Providing patients with medical advice on how to preserve their vision and recommendations on the speed of surgical intervention Providing patients with medicines for ongoing treatment Provision of eyeglasses to improve the quality of life

Long-Term Impact

Thanks to regular #MOD missions: - the team of doctors will gain unique experience in diagnosing and treating vision in the field - improve the equipment of mobile ophthalmology "rooms" for examinations, - create a special manual for scaling up the experience and use by any field teams of ophthalmologists - to scale this project and further move from mobile "rooms" to a full-fledged ophthalmic operating room "on wheels" that will operate in the frontline / de-occupied territories
