1. Project Summary & Recent Progress
Ruboni Arts Village continues to serve as an indispensable community space for over 100 children and local youth in the Rwenzori region, offering hands-on training in creative arts, sustainable waste recycling, and kinetic water-turbine science. We extend our sincere gratitude to our early supporters; to date, we have received 3 donations totaling $1.00 USD through GlobalGiving. Each contribution represents a vital vote of confidence in our mission.
2. Key Challenge: High Rent & Facility Limitations
Our primary operational bottleneck remains operating from a rented facility. Monthly rent payments absorb nearly all of our operational savings, severely constraining our program funds. Furthermore, operating on leased property presents major long-term hurdles:
Inability to Build Permanent Structures: We cannot construct permanent water turbine models, kinetic science exhibits, or large sculptures on rented ground.
Risk of Displacement: Operating without land ownership creates ongoing instability for the 100+ children who depend on the hub.
3. Our Appeal: Building a Permanent Innovation Space
To ensure long-term stability and secure a legacy for future generations, Ruboni Arts Village is appealing to all kind-hearted donors and well-wishers to hear our call and support our land acquisition and building fund.
Our Vision: Acquire permanent land and construct a dedicated Innovation & Cultural Hub in Ruboni Village. A permanent home will eliminate rent costs, secure operations for generations, and allow us to build full-scale kinetic science exhibits and outdoor living museum displays.
4. Next Steps
Mobilize Land Fund: Partner with supporters to secure permanent property in Ruboni Village.
Erect Permanent Science Exhibits: Install functional micro-hydro water turbine demonstration models and outdoor cultural artifacts.
Expand Youth Participation: Scale up practical training programs for over 100 kids in eco-art, craft, and mechanics.
