This project is being undertaken by the Rotary Club of Chelmer Bridge and follows on from discussion between the members who wanted to help the NHS during the pandemic. In consultation with the surgical staff at the hospital an urgent need was identified for a piece of equipment used in keyhole surgery; this equipment is known as "Airseal". We have successfully completed a number of fundraisers for Bromfield Hospital which is the main hospital in Chelmsford. Our Project went live in September and funds raised will be around £18000 by the end of January 2021. It is estimated that around 60% of the funds were raised during the Accelerator period and the remainder has been achieved through the "recurring" payments programme and the members of our Club reaching out to their respective networks. We recently ran a virtual quiz which proved very popular and raised around £1000. We have negotiated a reduced price with the supplier and estimate that we will be approximately £3000 short of our target by the end of January. We are currently looking at other means of raising these funds to enable the equipment to be purchased by February '21.
