Protect Endangered Eagles in Bangladesh

The Save Eagles in Bangladesh project continues to make significant strides in conserving eagle species across the country. Through a collaborative approach involving habitat protection, community engagement, and rescue operations, we are actively addressing the challenges faced by eagles and other raptors in Bangladesh.

Key Achievements

1. Rescue Operations:
• Rescue of Two Eaglets: In collaboration with our local partner, Bangladesh Biodiversity Conservation and Social Services Centre (BCSSC), we successfully rescued two eaglets from Kendua upazila in the Netrakona district. The eaglets were found in a vulnerable state and were promptly taken into care for rehabilitation.
• Rescue of Two White-rumped Vultures: During the same operation, we also rescued two critically endangered White-rumped vultures (Gyps bengalensis) from the same area. These vultures are vital to maintaining ecological balance, and their conservation aligns with our broader mission of raptor protection.
2. Community Engagement:
• Local residents were actively involved in identifying and reporting the distressed birds, highlighting the growing awareness and support for our conservation efforts.
• Awareness campaigns in the area emphasized the importance of protecting eagle habitats and the broader ecosystem.
