Eagles-including the endangered Pallas's Fish Eagle (Haliaeetus leucoryphus)-play a critical role in maintaining ecological balance. In Bangladesh, multiple eagle species are threatened by habitat destruction, human-wildlife conflict, and illegal hunting. This project will conserve all eagle species in Bangladesh through habitat protection, community engagement, rescue and rehabilitation, and scientific research to ensure their long-term survival and ecological importance.
Eagle species in Bangladesh are rapidly declining due to habitat loss, pollution, illegal hunting, climate change, and growing human-wildlife conflict. Wetland destruction and deforestation have reduced nesting and feeding areas, while low public awareness leaves eagles vulnerable to poisoning and capture. These threats endanger biodiversity and disrupt ecosystem balance that local communities depend on.
The project will protect and restore critical eagle habitats, conduct rescue, treatment, and rehabilitation of injured birds, and train local volunteers to monitor and safeguard eagle populations. Community awareness programs, partnerships with authorities, and scientific research will reduce illegal activities and guide long-term conservation of all eagle species in Bangladesh.
This project will secure the long-term survival of eagle species in Bangladesh while strengthening healthy ecosystems. Communities will gain knowledge and skills to protect wildlife, habitats will recover, and improved research will guide future conservation. These outcomes will benefit biodiversity, local livelihoods, and future generations nationwide.
