Five donors have already said: a hungry child should never be turned away from a meal. That belief , carried by you , is what keeps this project moving forward.

Our campaign numbers have not changed this quarter. $320 raised. 5 donors. And a goal that remains firmly in view at $100,000. We share this transparently because accountability is foundational to how we operate ,  and because we believe this community deserves honesty, not just optimism.

The need this project addresses has not slowed down. The hunger gap in American schools is widening. And we are building, quietly and carefully, the infrastructure to close it , one student, one school, one debt-free lunch at a time.

What We Did This Quarter

Funding may be in its early stage, but operational readiness does not wait for a full budget. This quarter, we focused on building the groundwork so that when funding grows, we can act immediately and responsibly.

Here is what we advanced:

• Continued school-level outreach , identifying where lunch debt is most concentrated and where our support will create the fastest, most verified impact.

• Refined our implementation model , all payments go directly to school meal accounts. No cash. No intermediary. Every dollar lands on a child's lunch balance.

• Established incremental deployment protocols , we are not waiting for $100,000 to help the first child. We are structuring this project to deploy in verified batches as each funding threshold is reached.

• Strengthened our documentation standards , payment records, school confirmations, and anonymized student impact reports will accompany every deployment, ensuring full transparency to our donors and GlobalGiving partners.

Why This Still Matters — The Numbers Behind the Need

The urgency of this project has not diminished. If anything, it has grown.

• 1 in 5 U.S. children , nearly 13 million  live with food insecurity.

• School meal debt affects children across income levels as family budgets tighten under ongoing cost pressures.

• When a child cannot pay, the consequences are immediate and lasting: denied trays, "cold sandwiches" in place of hot meals, public embarrassment at the register, and the quiet shame that follows a child back to their desk.

• Hungry children do not learn well. Research consistently links food insecurity to lower attendance, reduced focus, and weakened academic performance.

Lunch is not a reward. It is the most essential school supply a child needs , and it should never be withheld.

Honest Assessment: Where We Stand and What We Are Doing About It

Challenge: At $320 raised, we remain in early-stage funding. This constrains how quickly we can move to active debt relief deployment.

We are not discouraged. We are strategic.

Our response this quarter:

• Increasing campaign visibility through targeted storytelling that makes the impact of every gift immediate and concrete.

• Restructuring our donor communications to show clear giving tiers: $25 covers a week of school meals. $100 eliminates a child's full debt. $500 clears an entire classroom's balance.

• Building relationships with school nutrition staff and administrators so that when funds arrive, deployment is fast, verified, and well-documented.

What Comes Next

In the next quarter, we are hoping:

1. Activate community partnerships, faith organizations, parent networks, and local businesses that share our commitment to children's wellbeing.
