Safe water for 142 children in Argentina
Kindergarten and nursery N° 193, Los Frentones
When we met this community and its reality, we detected, on the one hand, a need and, on the other, a commitment. Therefore, we decided to develop a project to be able to accompany this community.
From the initial survey, the need for a rainwater harvesting system for the institution was validated and an advanced survey was carried out with which to adjust the design to specific needs.
We’ve already sought the budgets for materials and tools, and in parallel, we’ve contacted the school directive and the municipal representative to initiate the coordination of the work.
There we took the first step to raise funds through the GlobalGiving platform and at the moment we have raised 60%. We also manage resources with local partners and with the Pampa del Infierno municipality.
At the moment, we are conducting the first analysis with the local community, categorizing the problem from the perspective of the beneficiaries. Likewise, we are in the process of selecting the work team that will accompany the construction of the rain harvesting system.
The next steps will be the delimitation of the land, the purchase of materials, the arrival of the local machinery and the establishment of the start date of the work.
