Building Towards Safer Surgical Care
At Maluti Adventist Hospital, every contribution to the Safe Surgeries for 22,300 in Mapoteng, Lesotho project brings us one step closer to providing safer and more reliable surgical services for our community. Although we have not yet reached the funding level required to purchase our first major piece of equipment, the project continues to gain visibility and attract support from people who share our commitment to quality healthcare.
Our operating theatres serve a rural population of approximately 22,300 people, many of whom rely on the hospital for life-saving surgical procedures. Improving the equipment available in these theatres remains one of our highest priorities.
Why This Project Matters
Modern surgical equipment is essential for patient safety. Reliable operating tables and anesthesia equipment help surgeons and theatre staff perform procedures more effectively while reducing risks for patients.
Many of the current theatre resources have served the hospital for many years and are increasingly difficult to maintain. Replacing these critical items will strengthen our ability to provide timely, safe, and efficient surgical care for the communities we serve.
Stewarding Your Donations
We remain committed to ensuring that every donation entrusted to this project is used wisely and transparently. Rather than making small purchases with limited impact, the funds raised are being reserved until we reach the amount needed to acquire priority equipment that will make a significant difference in our operating theatres. This approach allows donor contributions to create lasting improvements in surgical capacity and patient care.
Looking Ahead
Our fundraising efforts continue through donor engagement, awareness campaigns, and participation in GlobalGiving opportunities that help expand the reach of the project. We remain hopeful that, with continued support, we will soon be able to secure the first major equipment purchase and share that milestone with our supporters.
Thank You
To everyone who has donated, shared our campaign, or encouraged our work, thank you. Your support is helping build a stronger future for surgical care in Mapoteng. Together, we are investing in safer surgeries, better patient outcomes, and a healthier community.
We look forward to updating you as the project continues to grow.
