This project aims to upgrade the operating theatre at Maluti Adventist Hospital, ensuring patients in our community receive safe, timely, and high-quality surgical care. Currently, the theatre lacks essential equipment, limiting our ability to perform critical procedures efficiently. With your support, we will provide the surgical team with the tools they need to save lives, reduce complications, and improve recovery for patients.
Maluti Adventist Hospital serves a rural population of 22,300, but its four operating theatres face major resource challenges. The surgical tables are worn out and non-adjustable, forcing surgeons to work in uncomfortable positions and limiting the range of procedures they can perform. Essential equipment is often shared between theatres, leading to delays when all are in use. As a result, some patients experience postponed or cancelled surgeries due to limited capacity.
This project will equip Maluti Adventist Hospital's four operating theatres with modern surgical and patient-safety equipment. New adjustable tables and dedicated instruments for each theatre will help surgeons perform procedures more safely and efficiently. With the upgrades, equipment sharing will no longer cause delays, allowing timely surgeries for all patients. These improvements will enhance surgical care and strengthen health services for the entire Mapoteng community.
Equipping Maluti Adventist Hospital's operating theatres will improve the safety and efficiency of surgeries, reduce complications, and save lives. Over time, the hospital will be able to handle more surgical cases, including emergencies and trauma, without delays. Mothers, children, accident victims, and the wider rural population will have reliable access to quality surgical care, strengthening overall health outcomes for the entire Mapoteng community.
