Nile Care Advocacy for Peace and Development (NILECAPD) seeks to improve the safety, wellbeing and educational opportunities of vulnerable children in South Sudan who have lost their parents, become separated from their families or lack adequate care and protection. The project aims to establish and strengthen a safe home and education support programme, initially serving 250 children, with the long-term goal of expanding to 500 children as resources permit. Through safe accommodation, education
Many vulnerable children in South Sudan lack consistent parental care, safe shelter and the resources necessary to access and continue their education. These circumstances may expose them to neglect, food insecurity, poor health, emotional distress and interrupted schooling. Without appropriate support, their safety, development and future opportunities remain at risk. NILECAPD t need for an integrated intervention that combines child protection, education and essential care.
We intend to complete and equip a suitable child-friendly facility and provide vulnerable children with educational support, learning materials, nutritious food, basic healthcare and psychosocial care. The programme will promote life skills, positive values, social responsibility and personal development. Teachers, caregivers and relevant personnel will support children's learning, confidence and growth. Implementation will begin with 250 children and expand gradually towards 500.
The project aims to help vulnerable children access education, improve their wellbeing and build a more secure future. With appropriate care and support, children will have better opportunities to complete their education, develop their abilities and pursue aspirations such as becoming teachers, nurses, doctors, business owners and community leaders. The initiative will also strengthen community participation and awareness of child protection and educational needs.
