Children of detention survivors face severe psychological distress, economic hardship, and food insecurity as a result of prolonged trauma and family instability. Many lack access to psychosocial support, basic protection services, and essential resources, increasing their risk of long-term mental health issues, negative coping mechanisms, and interrupted development.
The project addresses these challenges through integrated psychosocial support, child protection services, and safe learning activities that help children heal from trauma. Direct cash assistance of USD 50 per child and food baskets reduce financial and food-related stress on families, creating a stable environment that supports children's recovery, well-being, and long-term resilience.
Children will experience improved mental well-being, emotional stability, and resilience, reducing the risk of long-term trauma and negative coping behaviors. Families will be more stable and food secure, enabling children to stay in safe environments, continue learning, and develop healthier life skills. Over time, the project contributes to stronger, more resilient families and communities.
