Dear Friends,

It is about the time to write another report which covers the period from June 08, 2021 to October 07, 2021. This is our tenth report on the project of Safeguarding Frogs and Birds in Masuria, Poland.

At the end of the last quarter we have reported that the amount of money dedicated to the Measure 5.3. Protection of biological diversity, scheme A grant competition was not enough to finance all the applicants who met the grant requirements.

On the 31st of August, 2021 we could hear from the Marshal's Office again, and believe it or not, we were told that they might have additional funds for the grants, but the Marshal's Office would like to know if we are ready to sign a project agreement by the end of September.
Of course, we have replied "yes" right away, but we have not heard from them since then.

Let's keep our fingers crossed!

We are very greatful to all of you for your continuing support! Since we are receiving donations from all over the world no location suprises us, but just recently we have received 6 donations from Taiwan, and, you know what .... these were acts of gratitude and appreciation for Poland for donating Covid-19 vaccines to Taiwan.

This is how the world should work globally!
Thank you very much Taiwan! Your help is greatly appreciated.

Actually it would be nice to know what countries our donors are coming from, and who cares about the welfare of the frogs?

We love you all!

With best regards,
Grazyna Polkowska

Dear Friends,

We are sending to you another report which covers the period from February 08, 2021 to June 07, 2021 and this is our ninth report on the project of Safeguarding Frogs and Birds in Masuria, Poland.

"The third time's lucky"?

Not this time!

As you already know, we have applied for the Measure 5.3. Protection of biological diversity, scheme A grant for the third time in August 2020.

After a few steps of a very strict selection process we were listed as the applicant who met all the requirements to be considered for a grant (see the list attached), but due to the competition allocation amount our project landed below the threshold point.

In simple words the amount of money dedicated to this competition was not enough to finance all the applicants who met the grant requirements.

Well, we are sad and tired, but our mind goes into the other direction now.

On our GlobalGiving site we have changed the project amount to $125 000, and from this point we are not counting on the government money anymore.

Just recently we have been recognized by MoneyTransfers.com as one of the top 15 Polish charities. Please read about it in the link right below:

https://moneytransfers.com/top-charities-poland

Once again we would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude and appreciation for your continuing support. Truly, without you it would not have happened!

Hello Friends,

This report covers the period from October 11, 2020 to February 07, 2021 and is our eight report on the project of Safeguarding Frogs and Birds in Masuria, Poland.

Our bumpy journey to finance this beautiful project is still on.

As you already know, we have applied for the Measure 5.3. Protection of biological diversity, scheme A grant for the third time in August 2020.

After a few steps of a very strict selection process we are still waiting for the final results. In last December we were listed as the applicant who meets the formal requirements to be considered for a grant (see the list attached), and since then we have not heard much yet.

We are patiently waiting for our Godot ...

But above all we would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude and appreciation for your generous support.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Without you it wouldn't be possible!

Sincerely,

Grazyna Polkowska

To Our Friends,

This report covers the period from May 19, 2020 to October 10, 2020 and is our seventh report on the project Safeguarding Frogs and Birds in Masuria, Poland.

Our journey to finance this beautiful project is still on.

Since our court complaint at the Provincial Administrative Court in Olsztyn was dissmised, and we could not find any partners from Norway, Island or Liechtenstein to apply for the Norway Grant, we decided to try once more, and apply for a EU Grant.

As you already know, this is the third time we apply for the Measure 5.3. Protection of biological diversity, scheme A grant, and since our two previous applications were rejected due to the minor mistakes, we believe this time we will succeed.

We do our best to finance our biodiversity goals, but this is a really long and painfull process, and there are moments we are running out of steam...

And then we recall Thomas Edison quotes:

- "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."

- "Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up".

or

- "We often miss opportunity because it's dressed in overalls and looks like work"

On behalf of our team, I offer you our sincerest gratitude.

Hello Friends,

This is our quarterly report which covers the period from February 20, 2020 to May 19, 2020, and is our sixth reporting quarter of the project Safeguarding Frogs and Birds in Masuria, Poland.

Our bumpy journey to finance this beautiful project is still full of hard work and dissapointments. As you already know, we applied for the Measure 5.3. Protection of biological diversity, scheme A grant, and our application was rejected due to the minor mistake, and it was just .... ridiculous.

We have filed a court complaint at the Provincial Administrative Court in Olsztyn, and all our reasonings you can find in the document attached.

In the meantime there was the EEA and Norway Grants call for proposals for Environment and Ecosystems  (see link below), and applications are due by the 3rd of August, 2020.

Since we have all the permits and other required documentation ready to go, our decision was to apply again, but we need a partner from Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein . If anyone who is reading this report is from any of these three countries, and would like to help us find such a partner, please let us know at masurian_lakes_legacy@wp.pl

Your help will be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks for your continued support. On behalf of our team, I offer you our sincerest gratitude.
