Dear donors,
Since 2024, together we have in Ukraine successfully installed one water tower, drilled five boreholes, and constructed seven water treatment systems and three wastewater treatment systems in educational, healthcare, and communal facilities. These interventions have enabled access to safe drinking water for 6,572 people. That makes a huge impact.
Overall, the activities have improved access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene services in underserved communities.
With the project we focus on Dnipropetrovsk region, one of the largest host regions for internally displaced persons in Ukraine. Many public institutions here—including schools, kindergartens, hospitals, and other social service facilities—remain dependent on untreated or contaminated water sources.
However, due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, access to safe and reliable drinking water remains critically threatened in many areas, particularly in regions experiencing large-scale displacement and infrastructure damage.
Regions near active combat zones face the compounded pressures of ongoing conflict and significant population displacement. The high concentration of internally displaced persons places unprecedented strain on already fragile water and sanitation infrastructure.
In addition, the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam in June 2023 has had a cascading impact on regional water systems. These impacts include declining groundwater levels, unstable and disrupted water supplies, and increased reliance on unregulated boreholes and reservoirs, many of which remain untreated and unsafe.
For this reason, we are now again seeking your support to ensure access to safe drinking water for thousands more children and patients in the affected regions.
We appreciate the support from every one of you – to ensure children in Ukraine have acess to clean water in the upcoming months. With your help we can build another water tower and provide new purifications systems for hospitals.
Thank you for your support and help,
Yours Anezka from ADRA
