This project seeks to strengthen maternal healthcare services at a rural hospital that serves thousands of women and girls each year, by equipping and stocking the maternity ward, particularly the delivery room, which currently lacks essential equipment and supplies. The initiative aims to help create a safer, better-equipped environment for childbirth and improve the quality of care for mothers and newborns.
WICO has already demonstrated its commitment to improving maternal health in the district by constructing a waiting mothers’ shelter to support women accessing maternity services. While our resource mobilisation appeal did not raise sufficient funds to implement all the planned activities, the need remains urgent and the vision is still achievable. We welcome opportunities to partner with donors and development partners who share our commitment to maternal health and are willing to help bridge this critical gap in rural healthcare. With the right support, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of women, girls, and newborns in this underserved community.
Unfortunately we did not raise any funds to execute the program. We continue to appeal for support to improve this community service.
