Colorado Bill Passed, Epstein Accountability, and Revolutionary Feature
This month, the SVPA is celebrating big wins across policy, press, and congressional accountability. From groundbreaking legislation in Colorado to ongoing advocacy for justice in the Epstein files, we are working hard to prevent sexual violence across the country.
Colorado Anti-Strip Search Bill Passed
In a big win this week, Colorado passed HB26-1123, “Preventing Sexual Abuse in Jails,” into law. We deeply appreciate CCASA, Allegra Mangione, the bill’s sponsors, and the survivors for their fearless advocacy. This first-of-its-kind law limits strip searches and prevents sexual violence against incarcerated people. It is the latest win in the SVPA’s fight against state sexual violence, serving as a blueprint for the rest of the country.

Pam Bondi Hearing Questions
We urged the House Oversight Committee to hold former Attorney General Pam Bondi accountable for mishandling the Epstein files. The SVPA and UltraViolet provided committee members with questions probing into her many failures, specifically her failure to release all of the files, failure to protect Epstein survivors, and her failure to deliver the American people with transparency, action, or justice. This is the latest in the SVPA’s ongoing work to bring accountability for all of the individuals and institutions that enabled or participated in Epstein’s abuses.
