Dear supporters,
We are moving forward with the project! We have made great strides in identifying local support to ensure that our crops will be growned sucessfully using only natural fertilizers.
I visited both groups in February 2014 to assess and discuss the upcoming initiative and they are extremely dedicated and have showed great interest in the approach discussed. Due to our low funding from our last fundraiser, we are now actively looking for donated seeds to officially launch the project. We have solicited IFAD, Heifer Internaitonal and Florida International University for tomatoes, carrots, yellow sweet potatoes and calabassa or yellow squash. Thus far, our requests are still pending. However, if you know of an organization or individual that would be willing to donate seeds, please do not hesitate to let us know.
Attached you will find some pictures from the last site visit to give you an idea on the number of our beneficiaries. I am also pleased to say that our members are all dedicated and have really been committed to attending each workshop since they started back in October 2013.
Attached you will also find our latest newsletter for your perusal.
Thank again for your support!
Stephanie
