Education during the Covid-19 pandemic

Dear Friends and colleagues,

I am happy to reach out hoping to find you safe and sound. Continued education has been a major challenge for children during covid-19 lockdown. It has been worse for the children out of school who were already disadvantaged. While the mainstream society were able to provide some technological support for children to somehow continue with learning, it was a different story for children in need of second chance education. We were not able to provide them with technological gadgets to access online learning, they live in places where there is no electricity, no water  and densely populated.  The prolonged lockdown from January to March 2021 after having spent some 8 months at home in 2020 worsened the situation. The children we target had no option but to wait for the public formal lifting of lockdown regulations to access face to face lessons. These challenges have shown us that going forward we need support to enable continued learning for the 200 out of school learners that we are currently supporting.

Schools opened on the 15th of March 2021 , 2 months behind their normal opening schedule dates. There is need for a catch up plan as the learners have resumed the face to face lessons.

Some could have lost hope, but with your support there is light at the end of the tunnel. Kindly support by telling your friends about our cause. We need money to buy electronic gadgets for online learning, books, volunteer stipends, furniture, food and school fees.
