2026 Spring Updates

By Laura Hackney | CEO

In 2025, AnnieCannons reached a significant milestone as a national survivor-centered technology workforce movement. The organization formally launched its Seven Cities Initiative, beginning with expanded regional programming in Atlanta, New York, and San Francisco. Students completed more than 1,500 contact hours across four software development courses, with 91% successfully completing Tech Career Foundations. AnnieCannons also launched its External Apprenticeship Program, embedding trained survivor-developers into partner companies for paid, 15-week placements, and introduced Ethical AI Education across its curriculum, equipping survivors to not just use AI but to build and govern it responsibly. New partnerships with Salesforce, IBM, Anthropic, and MIT's RAISE Initiative deepened the organization's reach and technical credibility. By the numbers, 73% of graduates secured full-time tech employment within six months, graduates earned a combined $3.7 million building technology products, and 38 mission-aligned companies helped link survivors to new careers.

2025 also marked meaningful growth in how AnnieCannons measures impact beyond job placement. The organization formally began tracking student confidence as a core outcome, using structured self-assessments at intake, mid-program, graduation, and post-placement to capture growth in coding, problem-solving, communication, and professional identity. On the technology side, AnnieCannons continued developing ResourceFull, its survivor-built platform for connecting individuals to vetted services, and launched ThriveConnect, a collective impact initiative with Elevate Academy and Empowered Network to link career-ready survivors with top-tier employers.
