Nigeria is described as poverty capital of the world with 87 million people living in extreme poverty. The problem is exacerbated with the emergence of Herdsmen Crisis in the North Central Nigeria which has destroyed farmlands, properties and rendered thousands of small holder farmers homeless. Some of the displaced farmers have returned to their homes from displaced persons camps and are in distressed and in need of help to revive their farmland and improve their livelihood.
We provide Small Holder Farmers with training on best agronomy practices including land clearing, planting methods, and harvest and post harvest practices. We also provide these farmers with access to quality inputs such as Seeds, fertilizer, crop protection etc. With the training and farm inputs these farmers are able to go back and revive their destroyed farmlands and improve their livelihood and eventually exit poverty.
The project will train 250 Small Holder Farmers that were victims of farmer-herdsmen crisis in the North Central Nigeria and provide them with access to quality inputs such as seeds, fertilizer, crops protection etc and enable them to revive their farming activities, improve their livelihood and that of their family and the community and ultimately reduce poverty.
