Distant Dream Come True

By Eric Gaka | Fundraising & Communications Manager

This year has brought great achievements to our organization, as we work towards transforming lives through the provision of a quality and holistic education to 200 out-of-school children in Kibera Kenya. In 2023, we have returned 20 out-of-school children to school. The vulnerable children got an opportunity to continue with their education, catch up with their peers and get closer to achieving their dreams. In this same year, 22 students from our Fountains of Hope School completed their primary education after returning to school for several years. Gregory cannot believe that he has completed his primary education and will soon be joining secondary school. He says that this is a distant dream come true. He hopes to finally join the university after completing his secondary education to pursue a career in medicine. His ultimate dream is to help vulnerable people from his community to access affordable medical care and support. Unlike Gregory, many children in Kibera who are out of school due to financial constraints do not have access to quality education that will equip them with the knowledge and skills to transform their community. We desire to see that no child in Kibera is left behind in getting a quality education. We therefore have enrolled 35 new children who will join our School Transition Programme in January 2024 and be supported to return to school. Thank you for your support and for being part of our journey this year towards transforming lives, restoring hope, and ending poverty in Kibera, Kenya. We take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year 2024.
