Improving Lives Through Quality Education

We cannot run away from the fact that education is the greatest equalizer. That education can change
lives and lift individuals out of poverty. It is unfortunate that many vulnerable children are sidelined
and miss opportunities to access basic quality education to improve their lives and those of their
families. Many children living in informal settlements like Kibera are left behind in education and do
not get to graduate from primary school. Our school transition programme supports out of school
children living in Kibera to return to school and complete their primary education.
As we come to the end of this year, we are delighted to report that 23 of the children that we have
been supporting through the school transition programme did their final primary examination and
they should be transitioning to secondary school in the coming year!
We are also happy to report that through a rigorous intake process that involves home visits, oral
interviews, academic assessments etc, we have enrolled 20 new children into the programme to
start their classes in January 2023. We cannot thank you enough for your support this year.
As we look forward to 2023, we invite you to celebrate with us 20 years of supporting vulnerable
children and families living in Kibera to achieve their full potential. Here is to another 20 years of
restoring hope and transforming lives!
