Refugee families from Pakistan in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer region face long-term hardship and exclusion. Many women and children lack identity documents, limiting access to education, livelihoods, and essential services. Social stigma deepens their vulnerability. Sambhali Trust supports these communities through a learning and vocational centre providing basic education, tailoring skills, mentoring, and emotional support so women can earn incomes and girls can continue their education with dignity.
Women and children from refugee families in Rajasthan face overlapping challenges. Without identity documents, many children cannot enroll in school, and women are excluded from work and basic services, leading to low literacy and economic dependence. Many families migrated during past conflicts or on religious visas and remain outside formal systems. Social stigma further isolates women and girls. Without consistent support, refugee families face intergenerational poverty and loss of dignity.
Sambhali Trust addresses these challenges through a holistic, community-based approach combining education, livelihood skills, and emotional support. The project provides basic education in Hindi, English, and Mathematics, along with vocational training in sewing and tailoring to help women earn sustainable incomes.
