Project Update:
In 2024, community-driven efforts to improve reproductive health reached new heights. 470 women accessed long-acting birth control methods, expanding their ability to make informed decisions about if or when to grow their families. This access plays a critical role in reducing maternal mortality, supporting economic stability, and opening up opportunities for education and work.
In the community of Sacaca, our local partners led a reproductive health campaign timed around carnival season. As part of this effort, they distributed educational materials and condoms to support informed family planning and prevent sexually transmitted infections. The campaign was shaped by the needs and strengths of the community and made a measurable difference in awareness and access to care.
In 2025, we will continue working alongside community health leaders to ensure reproductive health education and resources remain accessible, respectful, and rooted in local priorities.
