Eco-Agric Uganda plans to provide education, scholastic materials, improve nutrition and income to 500 orphans and their care givers in remote western Uganda. The project will provide scholastic materials, pay school fees, give out beans and maize seeds for planting plus chicken to 500 orphans and vulnerable children aged 6-24 years. 300 f the orphans and vulnerable children will be females while 200 will be males
According to the Hoima District survey Hoima district has over 60,000 Orphans and Vulnerable children with at least 3,000 orphans in school supported with school fees, but without uniforms and scholastic materials. Most of these orphans are neglected, abandoned, often defiled and get early pregnancies. The major factors affecting orphans are the endemic poverty and high illiteracy among households. It will improve education, income and nutrition among 500 orphans and vulnerable children.
Eco-Agric Uganda will provide primary, secondary and vocational education plus scholastic material to orphans and vulnerable children. It will provide sanitary pads for the girls to improve on personal hygiene, it provides beans and maize seeds plus chicken to improve on nutrition and income of the starving orphans. The children's parents and caregivers will be trained in nutrition and child care. The mothers are also taught to share their new knowledge with their neighbors
The project will educate 500 orphans allowing them to rise out of poverty, which will provide for their families' health and well-being. It will provide beans and maize planting seed and chicken to improve on nutrition and income of 500 orphans and their families. It will train orphans, their parents and caregivers about income nutrition and child care. After getting education, they will be able to meet their basic needs like nutrition, income and health care and lead to a better community
