Support 200 Ukrainian children in recovering from the devastating impacts of Russia's war on Ukraine. Through Gen.Ukrainian's 21-day expert-led rehabilitation program, children get intensive therapy, group sessions, creative workshops, and family counselling to rediscover the joys of childhood. Donations are matched 1:1 by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, your contribution can fund the next Gen.Ukrainian program. This is our second joint fundraising - join us in giving hope.
The full-scale war in Ukraine has created a profound crisis of childhood. Over 5 million children have endured psychological trauma, displacement, and loss of safety and education (UNICEF). Research shows 75% of children display signs of trauma, 38% of adolescents meet criteria for a mental disorder, and 1 in 5 has lost a close relative or friend. Without urgent support, this overwhelming crisis threatens an entire generation with lasting consequences.
Gen.Ukrainian provides a holistic, two-phase approach to support children. First, a 21-day psychosocial intensive offers individual therapy, group activities, art and music therapy, sports, and family sessions in a safe environment. Children begin to process grief and fear, rebuild trust, and rediscover joy. Second, continuity support (3-6 months) ensures lasting progress through online sessions, peer groups, and family counselling, helping prevent regression even in unstable conditions.
This project restores the mental well-being of children affected by war, fostering resilience and laying a foundation for future growth. It helps them heal from trauma, protect their childhood, and regain confidence. Your support ensures not only recovery for today's children but also the development of practical methods and research on trauma recovery - creating sustainable approaches to safeguard and strengthen future generations.
