HELP RESTORE EYESIGHTS TO 500 BANGLADESHIS
PROJECT REPORT_JANUARY, 2015
Cataract operations are going on smoothly at our Karmirhath Hospital. Thanks to our overseas donors who donated through GlobalGiving Foundations. 1562 eye patients received treatments during the last two months. 63 patients went through Cataract operations and got back their eye sights.
Case Studies:
Ameena is 40 years old. She is married and has 4 children. She works in a rice mill as a day labour. Her husband is also a day labor and works as agriculture labor. Ameena developed some troubles in her eyes about three years ago. But could not afford to see an eye specialist. In November, 2014, Karmirhath organized a free Eye Camp at a school compound near Ameen;s home. Ameena took this opportunity to see a doctor. She was found to have developed cataract in both of her eyes. Ameena, along with other cataract patients, was brought to Karmirhath Hospital for treatment. After thorough examinations and tests, cataract operations were conducted on both eyes of Ameena, free of costs. With eye sights reatored, Ameena went home resumed her work as a day labor in rice mill. She profusely thanked Karmirhath hospital and to those who provided fund for her treatment.
Rahim (not his real name):
Rahim is 75 years old. He is a day labor. He has 4 daughters and 1 son. The son is married and lives elsewhere and does not help his parents. All daughters are married and all are poor too.
Rahim developed cataract more than 4 years ago. Now he went almost blind. Some kind hearted person one day brought him to Karmirhath hospital. At the hospital, Rahim was examined and cataract operations were conducted on both of his eyes, free of costs. He thanked Karmirhath hospital and he donors who funded the free cataract operations.
