HELP RESTORE EYESIGHTS TO 500 BANGLADESHIS

Cataract operations are going on smoothly at our Karmirhath Hospital. Thanks to our overseas donors who donated through GlobalGiving Foundations. 1,289 eye patients received treatments during the last two months. 41 patients went through Cataract operations and got back their eye sights.

Case Studies:

1. Emdadul Huq (Not his real name):

Emdadul Huq is 76 years old. He has one son and six daughters; all left their old parents after they got married. Emdadul Huq sold everything for giving dowry at the time of marriage of his daughters. By profession he is an agriculture labor. He cannot work regularly because of his old age. His wife is also old and cannot work.

Mean while, Emdadul Huq developed cataract in both of his eyes. He did not make any attempt to treat his eyes as he had no money. In this way he passed more than 12 years with cataract in both of his eyes. One day he came to know about Karmirhath Eye Hospital where cataract operations are done without any money from poor patients, He is very grateful to Karmirhath hospital and to those who provide fund for such operations.

2. Shamsul Huq (Not his real name):

Shamsul Huq aged 65 years, hails from the nearby Polashbari, about 20 kilometers from Gaibandha. He lost his wife about six years ago. There is none to look after him. A few years ago, he developed cataract in both of his eyes. Doctors suggested operation. As he is very poor, he was unable to manage fund for his operation. Following the advices of his neighbor he one day came to Karmirhath Hospital. After necessary tests, cataract operations were performed on both of his eyes in two occasions. Shamsul Huq has got back eye sights on both of his eyes.

I thank sincerely GlobalGiving team for helping us with fund that enables us to provide free services to eye patients who need cataract operations to restore their eye sights.
