Summary

Children with disabilities in Tanzania face barriers to education, health, and inclusion due to lack of hygiene supplies, assistive devices, and learning materials. They are far less likely to attend school compared to their peers (UNICEF, 2024; NBS, 2022). Through this 24-hour emergency campaign, SBSD will support 386 children with disabilities with hygiene items, learning materials, assistive tools, and sports equipment. Join us in making a difference for these vulnerable children.

Challenge

Children with disabilities in Tanzania face major barriers to education, health, and inclusion due to lack of basic hygiene supplies, assistive devices, and learning materials. Many schools are not equipped to meet their needs, resulting in low attendance, limited participation, and poor learning outcomes. This situation continues to exclude vulnerable children from fully benefiting from education and limits their dignity, wellbeing, and future opportunities.

Solution

This project will provide hygiene items, learning materials, assistive devices, and sports equipment to 386 children with disabilities. It will improve school attendance, participation in learning, health, dignity, and inclusion by strengthening access to essential support in schools.

Long-Term Impact

The project will contribute to improved access to inclusive education for children with disabilities by strengthening school attendance, learning outcomes, and overall wellbeing. In the long term, it will help reduce structural barriers to education, promote dignity and social inclusion, and support greater independence and future opportunities for children with disabilities within their communities.

This project has provided additional documentation in a DOCX file (projdoc.docx).
