Hurricane Florence made landfall on Friday morning as a Category 1 hurricane, causing devastating flooding to North Carolina. The storm is predicted to bring punishing winds, heavy rain and record flooding to the Carolinas over the next week.
World Vision has a total of six full truckloads of relief supplies already in route to nearby Georgia. Relief supplies include food, clean water, personal hygiene items, temporary shelter items, diapers, clothing, flood cleanup kits and more. There are also 10 additional full truckloads of relief supplies ready to send early next week should that be necessary. The phase 1 deployment team is ready to respond.
World Vision has multiple local community partners in place for a strategic targeted response so that we can assist the most affected areas. These community partners are organizations already working closely with communities and understand the needs in their local area.
