This report provides an overview of the Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Training program conducted by Child’s Pose Yoga Project Philippines, Inc. from April 2023 to September 2023 for 24 abused women who are victims of domestic violence, human trafficking and forced labor. The program aimed to empower participants with tools to heal from trauma through Trauma Sensitive Yoga and other mindfulness practices. 2. Introduction

Trauma, particularly stemming from abuse, can have profound and lasting effects on an individual's mental and physical well-being. Yoga, with its focus on mindfulness and body awareness, offers a promising avenue for healing. This report evaluates the Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Training program, which sought to provide abused women with a safe and supportive environment to embark on their healing journey.

  • Group Sharing and Support: Encouraging participants to share their experiences and support one another.

To assess the program's impact, various data collection methods were employed, including pre and post-program surveys, participant interviews, and observation. Key findings include:

  • Increased Sense of Safety: 98% of participants reported feeling safer and more at ease in the Yoga class.
  • Reduced Anxiety and Stress: 95% experienced a decrease in anxiety and stress levels.
  • Enhanced Body Awareness: 90% reported improved body awareness and self-regulation.
  • Stronger Sense of Community: 100% felt a stronger sense of belonging and support within the group.
