Thanks to your continued support, the SYS team has implemented essential wildlife conservation and environmental awareness activities over the past three months, achieving the following milestones:

• 6 local wildlife guards supported at Bani Qais Reserve to help sustain frontline wildlife protection.
• 3 community awareness activities conducted to promote wildlife conservation and discourage illegal hunting.
• 4 environmental education sessions organized for school students to inspire future wildlife advocates.
• 300 educational flyers and posters distributed to strengthen public awareness of endangered species and habitat protection.
• A field monitoring visit was conducted at Taiz Zoo to observe the health and welfare conditions of Yemeni Rare Tigers housed at the facility.

The Yemeni Rare Tiger is among the world's most endangered big cats. Habitat degradation, declining natural prey populations, illegal hunting, and human–wildlife conflict continue to threaten its survival.

In Yemen, years of conflict, economic hardship, and limited resources for environmental protection have made wildlife conservation particularly challenging.

1. Supporting Frontline Wildlife Protection

Your contributions helped provide financial support for six local wildlife guards at Bani Qais Reserve, enabling them to continue their important responsibilities in monitoring wildlife, protecting natural habitats, and identifying potential threats.

Such monitoring contributes to greater awareness of animal welfare needs and the importance of appropriate care for endangered wildlife.
