Dear GlobalGiving Donors and Animal Lovers,
On behalf of the Support Yemeni Society Organization, we extend our most profound thanks for your unwavering commitment to our critical mission: “Rescue and Save Rare Yemeni Tiger from Extinction." Your extraordinary generosity is the driving force behind our efforts, translating directly into effective action on the ground. It is making a real and measurable difference in protecting these magnificent and rare animals, ensuring their survival, and securing a vital future for biodiversity in the region. Thank you for partnering with us to champion this urgent cause.
Project Activities: Third Quarter Performance Review
1. Enhanced Community Engagement and Public Outreach
This quarter, we significantly amplified public support and institutional backing for tiger conservation across the region:
Public Awareness Campaigns: Successfully executed a multi-channel public awareness campaign, utilizing community forums, targeted digital media outreach, and informative print publications (posters and leaflets) to educate local populations on the critical importance of tiger conservation and habitat preservation.
Governmental Coordination: Established and maintained strategic coordination with relevant government authorities to secure official endorsement and ongoing operational support for the project's tiger protection initiatives.
2. Operational Assessment and Welfare Monitoring
- Taiz Zoological Assessment: A detailed site visit and welfare assessment were conducted at the Taiz Zoo. The objective was to meticulously document and evaluate the current living conditions and overall well-being of the Yemeni tigers in captivity, informing future strategy for potential welfare enhancements.
3. Direct Conservation Action and Capacity Building
Our efforts focused on direct intervention against threats and strengthening the capacity of frontline personnel:
Anti-Poaching Operations: Implemented proactive measures that effectively disrupted and halted illegal hunting activities within critical tiger habitats, safeguarding vulnerable populations.
Ranger and Volunteer Empowerment: Provided comprehensive support to the dedicated teams of volunteers and rangers operating in the Bani Qais Nature Reserve, which included:
Financial Compensation: Ensuring the retention of skilled personnel through the provision of fair and consistent stipends.
Dear Generous Donors,
