Your gift is helping Rohingya youth heal

By Elizabeth Griffin | Senior Content Writer, World Concern

Your gift brings normalcy to displaced youth!
Your gift brings normalcy to displaced youth!

Your gift helps displaced youth heal from trauma!

Your gift fed and clothed Rohingya refugees, gave them water and essential hygiene products, and provided shelter when they needed it most. Thank you!

And now your gift is helping them heal from trauma. Here’s how:

In the Rohingya refugee camps, there is a growing need for young refugees to have hope and a sense of purpose, and to receive trauma counseling. Your gift is helping create training centers to build community, provide psychosocial support, and give those in survival mode the tools to begin to rebuild their lives.

Thanks to you, refugees are receiving:

  • Skills training in sewing and bicycle repair for 1,000 youth, ages 14-25
  • Language lessons in English and Burmese for an additional 1,000 boys and girls, ages 14-25
  • A place for cultural activities, such as music and dance
  • Soccer, takraw, and volleyball skills training, teams, and tournaments in 10 camps
  • Board games for kids to play

Your gift is bringing hope to the younger generation of Rohingya. Hope they need to rebuild their lives and have a future.

Hairulamin, age 21, said, “We’d like to be educated, we’d like to learn. If we were educated then our voices could be heard.”

Because of you, Hairulamin and other youth in the camps are being educated, they are learning skills to succeed in life, and they are developing community. They are finding their voice.

Thank you so much for giving!
