For the past seven months, we have seen a steady increase of donors and donations to our project, Reproductive health for Metro Manila's young women. With your support, 36 young women from poor communities in Metro Manila now have contraceptive implants. Since an implant can protect them from pregnancy for three years, these young women can pursue a better future and have the time to finish their education or find work.
Such is the case of Alice, 20 years old, stay at home mother to a toddler. Her 19-year old husband works as a tricycle driver. They have no plans to have another baby soon. Alice tried different contraceptives before but opted to use contraceptive implant because of its three years protection. However, when she tried to get one from several public health centers, she was turned down because of various reasons. Finally, she visited one of Likhaan clinics in Manila and was able to get one. She felt relieved knowing that it will allow her time to find work.
Help us help women like Alice achieve a better future for her and her family. Your support makes a huge difference to the lives of poor young women in Metro Manila.
