During Thailand’s rainy season, heavy rainfall and flooding affect many communities across the country. This year, several areas have experienced flooding, including communities where Mercy Centre operates its network of 17 kindergartens.
The floods have caused damage to some of our school facilities, creating challenges for children, teachers, and families. Floodwater, mud, accumulated dirt, and damaged equipment have left several school buildings in need of urgent cleaning, repairs, and renovation.
For children living in vulnerable communities, these schools are more than just classrooms. They provide a safe place to learn, develop essential skills, build friendships, and prepare for a brighter future. When school facilities are damaged, children’s education and daily routines are disrupted.
We need to restore our schools to ensure every child has a safe, clean, and welcoming place to learn.
Our Plan: Repairing and Restoring 17 Kindergartens
Mercy Centre plans to undertake a comprehensive cleaning, repair, and renovation initiative across our network of 17 kindergartens. Our priority is to address safety concerns, restore damaged facilities, and prepare classrooms for children to return to a healthy learning environment.
Our planned activities include:
1. Big Cleaning and Sanitation
2. Repairs and Renovation
3. Replacing Essential School Furniture
4. Replenishing Learning Materials and Equipment
Early childhood education is a critical foundation for a child’s future. For children growing up in low-income communities, access to a safe and supportive kindergarten can make a lasting difference.
Repairing our 17 kindergartens will help us:
This project is not simply about repairing buildings. It is about restoring stability, protecting children’s well-being, and ensuring that a difficult rainy season does not become a lasting barrier to their education.
How You Can Help
Mercy Centre is seeking support from our donors, partners, friends, and the wider community to make this restoration project possible.
Your contribution can help provide:
Every contribution, large or small, will help us restore the learning environments that children depend on.
At Mercy Centre, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and live with dignity, regardless of their family’s circumstances.
Although flooding has damaged school facilities and disrupted daily life in some communities, we remain committed to supporting our children and families. With the generosity and cooperation of our supporters, we can clean, repair, and renovate our 17 kindergartens and provide children with safer, healthier, and more welcoming places to learn.
Together, we can turn flood damage into an opportunity to rebuild stronger schools and restore hope for the children who need it most.
Thank you for standing with Mercy Centre and helping us protect the future of our children.
