A New School Year in Thailand

By Prawina Sompong | PR Manager

As the new school year begins in Thailand each May, our Mercy Centre preschools are once again filled with the laughter, energy, and excitement of children eager to learn. Thanks to your generosity and support, more than 1,000 children attending 17 community preschools have safe and welcoming places where they can learn, grow, and dream about their future.

During the first month of school, our youngest students begin by learning about themselves. One of their favorite lessons is discovering the parts of the body through the classic song "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes." It is wonderful to see that this beloved song continues to bring joy to children at Mercy Centre, just as it does to children around the world. We believe that no matter where children come from, they can all sing and learn together.

The children are also learning about their school, the communities where they live, and the personal belongings they use every day. Even at a young age, they are taught to care for and respect their belongings, helping them develop responsibility and confidence from an early age.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to every donor who has supported the Repair 17 Dangerous Slum Schools Project. Your kindness has helped create safer learning environments for children who need them most. Because of your support, children can attend school with greater comfort, security, and dignity.

Every repaired classroom, roof, floor, and learning space represents hope and opportunity for a child. Your generosity is making a real difference in their daily lives.

Thank you for continuing to stand alongside the Mercy Centre and the children we serve. We remain committed to our mission of supporting education and creating opportunities for children living in underserved communities. With your partnership, we will continue doing our very best to ensure that every child has a safe place to learn and a brighter future ahead.
