Program Background and Objectives:
This project aims to provide children in kindergartens and elementary school in areas with scarce educational resources (focusing on rural areas in central and western China and communities with a high concentration of left-behind children) with high-quality picture book reading accompaniment in the form of remote video accompaniment by volunteers to enhance children's interest in early reading and their language skills, and to make up for the gap in family educational resources.
Work Plan for the 2026:
The project team will continue to work on the precise response to demand and content suitability, so that each remote reading session will become a window to a wider world for children.
Formally launch the companion reading service, and carry out volunteer supervision and quality monitoring.
Tracking and feedback analysis of children's reading interest.
Continuous optimization: iterating the book list according to the feedback from the accompanying readers.
To expand the scope of beneficiaries, we plan to launch projects this year at schools for left-behind children and community service centers in economically underdeveloped areas of Xinjiang and Jiangxi Province.
If you enjoy reading and have experienced the positive support that comes from reading together, or if you’re curious about the impact of the human voice and the power of reading, please stay tuned for updates on this long-term project.
