Since that fateful day on April 25, 2015 in Nepal, along with the surrounding areas and countries, so much work has been done by many organizations from all over the world. Do Your Part is proud to be a small part of those efforts. We were also fortunate enough to have someone on the ground in Katmandu at the time of the earthquake and made contact with her in the first 12 hours after the quake. As the ground continued to shake around her, she was able to get food and water to some of the outlying vilages.
Then we got a call from an amazing young man by way of Global Giving who was in India at the time of the Earthquake and ask to volunteer. We first set him up with a medical trek team, and before he set off to meet them, he had an additional volunteer.
When they were done with rescue efforts, they set out to see how they could help in recovery. Both found many different areas of need until one of them needed to return home. The other still works to rebuild Nepal and its educational system. As two villages have been rebuilt and a third is underway, the next phase of work will begin in April.
The picture enclosed in the note are pictures of villagers and businesses in the area that we are working with to help boost the economy of their respective areas.
The need is still great as with any disaster of this proportion, please pass the word. Thank you to all for you very generous donations and to Global Giving for this platform in which to connect us.
