This project will assist traumatized women through self-help groups to regain their dignity and to encourage them to become self-supported by assisting them to start a small scale business.
There are women who may be the victims of trauma, violence, rape, divorce, abandonment, attack, fire, death of spouse, fleeing early marriage, prostitution, child-birth injuries etc. Often these women are ostracized or they themselves withdraw from society due to fear, shame or rejection. These women tend to become a "burden" on society as they don't work and have become dependent on other people or they are completely marginalized and very much alone.
We seek to assist these women by means of self-help support groups to enable them to regain their self-confidence and sense of self worth and where needed medical treatment ; thus encouraging them to become self-reliant through small but sustainable income generating activities.
Sixty four healthy and happy women per year who will be productive and active members of their families and society. They will be reintegrated and accepted by their communities thus leading to productive, cohesive and contented communities reflected in productive outcomes of the women specifically and the society as a whole.
