Rehabilitate Terrat's water system for 3000 people

Following a period of technical issues, our solar-powered pumping system has been successfully repaired and is once again supplying clean water from the borehole. This is an important step forward, reducing our reliance on the expensive and often unreliable local electricity grid while ensuring the community has a more resilient source of water.

However, our work is not yet complete. While the system is fully operational, further improvements are still needed to optimise its performance and maximise the amount of water that can be delivered each day. We continue to monitor the system and make enhancements to ensure it operates as efficiently and reliably as possible for the long term.

The Next Priority: Expanding the Water Network

Now that the pumping system is working again, our biggest challenge is getting more water to more people.

Much of the existing pipe network is ageing or undersized, limiting both the volume of water that can be distributed and the areas we can reach. As a result, many families—particularly those living in the more remote parts of Terrat—still have to walk considerable distances to collect water.

Our next phase is to expand and upgrade the distribution network with durable, high-quality piping. This will allow the repaired solar-powered system to operate at its full potential, bringing clean, safe water closer to every household and improving the lives of more than 3,000 residents.
