Dear Friends and Family of the Plant,
I hope you are well this lovely Tuesday! I am so excited to be able to share some amazing news with you all...
After our little campaign on world earth day we raised $900 and so we have put it to work and will be running a tree planting day at a local school in South Africa with 160 children. Our project leader who volunteers with us has been working on multiple lesson plans so we can educate the children in the classroom then in groups of 4 they will go out and learn to plant and protect their tree.
We hope bringing excitement and handson experience will help us educate the children in the importance of trees and the planet and help them understand the challenges we face, we hope this will inspire our children to take action and promote the importance of global warming at home and wider in their community.
It is incredible to see these funds getting to work and I hope we can secure more similar donations so we can run events like this across the whole of Africa, Asia and Latin America. One day we might even be able to get the school around the world planting together and sharing the progress.
Watch this space as we run our first educational tree planting event in South Africa!
Thank you for your donation,
Ali
