We provide a space for people of all ages to come together, socialise, and learn new skills. With your help we can provide a space where people of all ages can come together and feel supported and safe and part of the community. COVID Update: We are currently providinga home delivery of food and a phoneline for people of all ages to contact for support
London is the loneliness capital of Europe. Loneliness can be felt by people of all ages, but as we get older, factors that lead to loneliness begin to increase. Older people lose mobility, have less money coming in and start to lose thier peers. Loneliness and social isolation are harmful to our health. Social networks and friendships not only have an impact on reducing the risk of death or developing certain diseases, but they also help individuals to recover when they do fall ill.
At least 300 people will be invited to participate in intergenerational and community building activities. This project will reduce isolation, increase understanding and relationship building between young and old. We will provide supported employment and jobs for people with disabilities empowering them with skills and purpose. By engaging people of all ages and abilities, we can build a community of mutual respect and understanding.
Our projects work with around 300-400 people each week providing them with a source of free healthy nutritious food, mainly from surplus, which enables many people to eat for the rest of the week. With more funding we can provide our guests with supported volunteering and secure befriending opportunities.
