We are thrilled to report that nearly 1,000 students in Chile are now actively participating in the Tutorial Relationships program! Tutorial Relationships is a U.N.-backed educational innovation that allows students to be the protagonists of their own learning process, and it is expanding rapidly in Chile thanks to donors like you! At Educación 2020, we think it's important that the whole community participates in this education revolution, so on December 6th we invited 30 student tutors from various regions of the country to teach business executives using the Tutorial Relationships method. The cornerstone of Tutorial Relationships is the individual preparation of topics by each student. Students choose a topic of interest to them, work with teachers to link material to national curriculum, and begin teaching their topic to peers. At the event last week, executives learned about neurons, myths and legends, environmental protection, mathematics, and much more from their student teachers. In their final presentations, one executive enthusiastically shared that he planned to use the method with his own son, who struggles with reading comprehension. Because Tutorial Relationships allows students to learn at their own pace and encourages in-depth exploration of each topic using a range of sources (videos, music, etc), it is an effective way to engage all learners!
This event was a powerful way to connect the community to the impact of educational innovations like Tutorial Relationships in vulnerable schools, and we hope to repeat it again soon! Thank you for helping us empower the students of Chile. We could not do it without you!
Un abrazo,
The Educación 2020 Team
