On June 4th, a fire broke out in Sharya camp, one of 15 camps housing 16,000 displaced Yezidis who escaped genocide in 2014. In total, more than 370 tents were burned; 184 families comprised of 994 individuals living in these tents lost all their properties and belongings. These families are currently without shelter, food, and other basic necessities. We are asking you to to join our campaign to raise $100,000 US dollars to support these families and help us address this emergency situation.

We are asking you to to join our campaign to raise $100,000 US dollars to support these families and help us address this emergency situation. This campaign is organized by a group of Yezidi NGOs and activists. All funds collected will be divided up equally among the 184 effected families. A steering committee will oversee the distributions.
Yezidi genocide survivors are among the most desperate and oppressed people, with few options and scarce resources. In Sharya IDP camp, 400 of the total 4,000 tents burned down in a horrific fire. These survivors now have nothing at all. Basic support can help them to get back on their feet again, which is the first step toward recovery - and eventually the ability to return home with a better future in their areas of origin.
