Following the earthquakes of February 6, one of the key players in rebuilding lives has been women's cooperatives. The process of recovery and reconstruction requires significant resources and an extended period. However, the first step can be taken by helping the affected individuals and communities regain their livelihoods and create income-generating opportunities. After conducting needs assessments in Hatay, it was decided to support women's cooperatives in the region as part of the efforts by Hayata Destek.
Following the earthquake, the centers, workshops, and businesses of cooperatives that lost their shelter and livelihoods were also damaged, much like their homes. Their machinery and equipment, production materials, stock products, designs, official documents, and communication tools were buried under debris. The 7 women's cooperatives that we provided grants to have resumed production and sales with product, material and rent support.
