After the devastating earthquake that occurred in Turkey on February 6th, we have been working tirelessly to support life since the first day. As Hayata Destek in the earthquake zone, we have focused on supporting 'Reconstruction of Women's Cooperatives'. Our goal is to increase employment in the region by quickly restoring women's cooperatives to production.
The series of devastating earthquakes that occurred on and after February 6th resulted in the loss of many lives and injuries in Turkey. The 11 provinces affected by the disaster cover a large geographical area of Southeast Turkey and impact a population of 13.5 million. Furthermore, this region is relatively poorer compared to other parts of the country.
Significant resources are required for recovery and reconstruction efforts. However, the first step towards recovery for affected people is to regain their livelihoods and create income-generating opportunities. With this project, we aim to provide the necessary raw materials, supplies, and equipment to revive women cooperatives in the disaster area.
Our goal is to deliver support to 10 women cooperatives, which can become active again quickly, according to their needs. This project aims to contribute to the normalization of the disaster area and create employment opportunities in the long term.
