By DIOGO BEZERRA DA SILVA | Project Leader
Dear friends and supporters,
I am writing to share an update on the journey you made possible through your generosity to our project, Recoding Brazilian Favelas. Because of your belief in our mission, the past few months have been defined by incredible milestones that prove that peripheral talent belongs at the center of the technology and innovation economy. One of our proudest moments occurred when our team took the stage on Globo’s The Wall on Domingão com Huck, sharing our story and community vision with millions of viewers on prime-time Brazilian television. Being on that stage was about much more than visibility; it was about shifting national perception and demonstrating to the entire country that our youth are not subjects of charity, but capable drivers of corporate innovation and creativity.
Thanks to the foundation you help us sustain, we also officially kicked off Reprograme Cultural in partnership with Edenred Brasil and the Federal Culture Incentive Law (Lei Rouanet). Through this initiative, we are delivering 40 interactive workshops and 55 hours of training between August and December 2026, creating a vital learning bridge between Belém in the North and Campo Bom in the South. This curriculum connects Brazilian culture with practical computer tools, Excel, and Artificial Intelligence, reinforcing cultural identity while building concrete skills for economic mobility and the modern job market. At the same time, we have continued to nurture the career trajectories of our students through our Líderes em Tech corporate mentorship program, where dedicated ambassadors like Adriana Monteiro meet directly with students to strengthen their professional posture, time management, and career planning.
Our young leaders are also stepping up to lead the broader conversation on innovation across Brazil. Mais1Code ambassador Yuri Pinheiro recently took the stage at Semana Caldeira 2026 in Porto Alegre, speaking to over 200 entrepreneurs and tech executives about tech sales and the strength of peripheral talent in the corporate ecosystem. Meanwhile, the second season of our Quebrada Podcast is actively inspiring thousands of listeners by spotlighting authentic journeys, such as QA Senior engineer Bruno Eduardo, who grew up in the Pimentas neighborhood in Guarulhos and built a thriving tech career. None of these classrooms, stages, or life-changing opportunities could happen without your ongoing belief in our students. Thank you for walking alongside us and investing in a future where every young person from the favela has the tools to reprogram their own destiny.
With deep gratitude,
Tauan, Diogo & the Mais1Code Team
